Meet Pookey: Sunshine, Snuggles & The Biggest Smile Around Pookey is a chubby little Chihuahua mix with a tender heart, a gentle soul, and quite possibly the biggest, most infectious smile in the entire shelter. Seriously. Once that grin comes out, you can't help but smile right back. 💛 Pookey can be a little shy when you first meet him. He's not necessarily going to rush over and introduce himself to everyone in the room. He prefers to take a little time, sniff things out, and decide for himself that you're someone worth getting to know. But give him a little patience-and an invitation to hang out nearby-and you'll see a whole different Pookey emerge. His favorite place to be is outside in the sunshine, leisurely sniffing around and enjoying the world at his own pace. But when the exploring is over, Pookey would really prefer to be wherever you are. Invite him onto the couch, give him a spot beside you, or better yet, let him curl up in your lap, and suddenly that shy little guy starts to open up. And when he does? There's that smile. It's impossible to resist. Pookey isn't looking for a whirlwind lifestyle. He's looking for someone who will give him the time and patience to feel comfortable, invite him into their world, and appreciate the joy that comes from watching a shy dog slowly realize that he is safe, loved, and home. In return, you'll get a sweet, affectionate little companion who loves sunshine, sniffing, snuggling, and making everyone around him ridiculously happy with one enormous Chihuahua grin.
