Meet Elvin: The Center of Your Universe (And He Has the Nose to Prove It!) Some dogs want to be your best friend. Elvin would like to be your best friend, personal assistant, shadow, and full-time emotional support beagle. Preferably all at once, and preferably with absolutely no separation between you. This handsome hound is a people-loving professional who believes that wherever you go, he should go, too. Bathroom break? He's coming. Moving to the couch? He's already there. And if you're not actively paying attention to him, well, he would like to speak to management about this unacceptable lapse in service. Of course, being a beagle, Elvin does have an independent streak when something interesting catches his nose! He loves a good, long walk where he can stretch his sniffer and investigate all the fascinating smells the world has to offer. A yard to explore is another excellent perk, giving him plenty of opportunities to conduct his very important sniff-based research. Just don't expect him to spend all day entertaining himself out there. Eventually, he'll remember that his favorite activity is actually being wherever YOU are. When it comes to playtime, Elvin is more of a casual participant than a professional athlete. Fetch is fine for a little while, but he can lose interest pretty quickly when the novelty wears off. What doesn't get old? Putting that clever beagle brain to work! Treat puzzles, snuffle mats, scent games, and other enrichment activities are right up his alley. Give this boy a challenge, a few tasty rewards, and a chance to use that magnificent nose, and you'll be speaking his language. Now, there's one important thing to know about Elvin: other dogs make him uncomfortable, so he's looking for a home where he can be your one and only canine companion. No canine roommates, no sharing his space, and no competing for the affection of his favorite humans. Honestly, given his strong opinions about being the center of attention, we suspect he'll consider this arrangement perfectly reasonable.
