Charlotte and Gypsy

Charlotte’s Memorial Fund to SAVE Dogs

Charlotte Debrabandere adopted her dog, Gypsy, from SAVE in 2014 and Gypsy followed her to Baltimore, New York, Brooklyn, and finally to Denver…Gypsy was Charlotte’s loyal companion for 6 years, her hiking buddy in the mountains, her support during tough times, her play buddy to have fun with, and her pride and joy in life until the day she passed in 2020. We hope, with your contributions, that there will be many more “Gypsy’s” that will have the opportunity to light up the lives of others.

In memory of Charlotte, and for what would have been her 30th birthday, her family established this fund. They raised money to cover the transfer of several dogs from high volume municipal shelters to the safety of SAVE. The dogs pictured below have been transferred to the safety of SAVE-several of these sweet pets have already found forever homes.

In order to make your contributions count, they are matching donations up to $2,500.

For example, a gift of…

  • $50 – vaccinates and microchips (1 dog)
  • $250 – provides medical testing  (1 dog)
  • $300 – prepares a pet for adoption (1 dog)
  • $500 – provides specialty care (1 dog)
  • $1000 – provides life-saving heartworm treatment (1 dog)
  • $1500 – provides specialty surgery (1 dog)
  • $2500 – transfers 5 dogs from a high-volume municipal shelter to the safety of SAVE and gets them ready for adoption.

On behalf of Charlotte, Gypsy and her furry friends at SAVE, her family thanks you for your contributions.

As of December 2022, Charlotte's Memorial Fund has raised $9,000 to SAVE Dogs

The pups pictured below were all transferred to the safety of SAVE thanks to Charlotte’s Memorial Fund.
